In the early morning hours on Saturday January 16th, 2016 at approximately 12:01 A.M. uniformed officers from the Niagara Regional Police and members of the Niagara Falls Fire Department responded to a business on Victoria Avenue near Clifton Hill in the city of Niagara Falls for reports of a working fire.
Upon arrival the upper unit of the building was found to be fully engulfed in smoke. However, the Niagara Falls Fire Department managed to extinguish the fire and a safe entry was made. Upon entry they quickly concluded that no one was located within the entire building, as a result no injuries were reported.
Damages to the building were estimated at around $150,000.
Investigators from the Niagara Falls Fire Department deemed the fire suspicious and a a result the Ontario Fire Marshal was requested to further investigate the fire.
