According to police, on January 1, 2016 at 1:20 A.M. a male (victim) was leaving Boston Pizza on Clifton Hill in Niagara Falls, after enjoying a New Year’s Eve outing with his friends. Shortly after exiting the bar one of the males friends was summons by another male (accused). The three engaged in a verbal altercation regarding an unknown issue.
During the course of the verbal altercation the accused blind sided one of the males with a closed fist striking the victim to the right of his face. The accused then fled the area on foot. The punch caused the victim to drop to the ground in an unconscious state. Once the victim regained consciousness he was transported to Douglas Memorial Hospital in Fort Erie for treatment. The victim was found to have a fracture in his mandible (jaw) on the right side. The assault also caused four of his teeth to become impacted.
Following a thorough investigation, Detectives from the Casino Patrol Unit, Detective Office were able to identify the accused in this vicious assault.
On January 7th, 2015 at 1:45 P.M. 26 year old Daniel Willick from St. Catharines was arrested and charged with one count of assault causing bodily harm contrary to section 267(c) of the Criminal Code of Canada. Willick will be held pending a bail hearing which is scheduled at the Robert S.K. Welch Court house in St. Catharines tomorrow morning.
