According to police, as a result of a month long robbery investigation, Niagara Regional Police have made an additional arrest and laid further charges from a Pelham robbery that occurred on November 28th 2015.
On November 28th 2015, following a Robbery at a Shoppers Drug Mart in Pelham, Niagara Regional Police arrested and charged Brandon THOMPSON (27 years) of Welland with 6 charges that included Robbery (Firearm), Disguise with Intent, Possession of a Firearm Contrary to Order, Fail to Comply with Probation Order, Use Firearm During Commission of an Offence, and Possession of a Schedule I Substance for the Purpose of Trafficking.
Investigation also led Niagara Regional Police to arrest Tyler FENTON (27 years) of Port Colborne on November 29th 2015. He was subsequently charged with 20 charges that included Unauthorized Possession of a Firearm (x3), Restricted Firearm in a Motor Vehicle (x2), Firearms Storage Contrary to Regulations (x3), Firearms Stored with Ammunition in Careless Manner (x3), Firearms Possession Contrary to Prohibition Order (x3), Explosive Possession Contrary to Prohibition Order, Possess Explosive Substance – No Lawful Excuse, Possess Prohibited Weapon (x2), Possession of Schedule I Substance (Oxycodone) for the Purposes of Trafficking, and Possession of a Controlled Substance.
December 29th 2015 Update;
As a result of continued investigation, Niagara Regional Police have laid the following additional charges in relation to 2 other robberies that occurred in Southern Ontario;
Brandon THOMPSON is charged with one additional count of Robbery (Firearm) stemming from a Pharmacy Robbery that occurred in Simcoe on October 31st 2015.
Tyler FENTON is charged with 5 additional charges stemming from a Pharmacy Robbery that occurred in Simcoe on October 31st 2015. These charges include Robbery (Firearm), Disguise with Intent, Use Firearm during Commission of an Offence, Unauthorized Possession of a Firearm, and Firearm Possession Contrary to Prohibition Order.
Tyler FENTON is also charged with 7 additional charges stemming from a Pharmacy Robbery that occurred in Binbrook on November 13th 2015. These charges include Robbery (Firearm), Disguise with Intent, Use Firearm during Commission of an Offence, Unauthorized Possession of a Firearm (x2), and Firearm Possession Contrary to Prohibition Order (x2).
Both FENTON and THOMPSON have remained in custody since their arrests. Their new charges will be relayed in Court on their next Court date.
On December 29th 2015, Niagara Regional Police arrested a third suspect, Michael PICCINNI (27 years) of Port Colborne. He is charged with Robbery (Firearm) in relation to the Binbrook Pharmacy Robbery on November 13th 2015.
PICCINNI is scheduled to have a bail hearing on December 30th 2015 in the City of St Catharines.
