Police say on November 27, 2015, members of the Niagara Regional Police Service, #2 District Uniform Branch and Street Crime Unit began investigating a residential break-in that was reported to police. This incident occurred on Carlton Avenue in the City of Niagara Falls and resulted in the unknown suspect(s) stealing a small amount of property from within the home and a Grey, 2002 Toyota Sienna Van from the driveway .
Investigators from the Street Crime Unit are aware that this specific vehicle was involved with a second residential break-in that occurred on November 28, 2015, in the area of Dorchester Road in the City of Niagara Falls. Police also believe that the unknown suspect(s) is responsible for several other break-ins that have occurred in the City of Niagara Falls over the last two weeks.
On Wednesday December 02, 2015 at 5:23 a.m., an alert uniformed member of the Niagara Regional Police Service observed the stolen 2002 Toyota Sienna Van travelling on Thoroldstone Road in the City of Niagara Falls. Police attempted to pull over the stolen vehicle which failed to stop. The involved officers pursued the vehicle for several minutes and later terminated the pursuit in the interest of public safety.
The Toyota Sienna was later reported to police as an abandoned vehicle and has since been recovered from the area of Heritage Drive in the City of Niagara Falls.The suspect from these incidents has been described as a white male, 35 to 40 years old, approximately 240 lbs, with a shaved or bald head. At the time of the vehicle pursuit, the suspect was observed to be wearing a black toque and a black jacket.
