According to police, on Monday November 30th, 2015 members of the Niagara Regional Police Service Special Enforcement Unit with the assistance of the Intelligence Unit, Emergency Task Unit and K-9 Unit began an investigation into an individual wanted on a Canada Wide Arrest Warrant from Edmonton, Alberta who was believed to be hiding somewhere in the Region of Niagara.
Investigation by the Edmonton Police Service had determined that this individual had involvement regarding a homicide which occurred on April 6th, 2015 in City of Edmonton.
On Monday November 30th, 2015 at 11:00 a.m., Police arrested Shayne FRY in the City of Welland on the outstanding warrant moments before he was attempting to leave the region.
The Niagara Regional Police would like to thank the units and other agencies who helped in this collaborated effort. FRY will be held in custody pending his return to Edmonton.
