Police say, on Monday, October 19th 2015 at approximately 12:35am Police conducted a traffic stop on Poplar Avenue in the Town of Fort Erie. An investigation revealed a quantity of cocaine, canadian currency and a stolen firearm within the vehicle. Two males were subsequently arrested and charged.
Ryan Lever, 21 years of Fort Erie and Saber Lambert, 20 years of St. Catharines are charged with; Possession for the Purpose of Trafficking a Schedule I Substance contrary to Section 5(2) of the Controlled Drugs and Substances Act, Criminal Code of Canada offences including;Possession of Proceeds of Crime contrary to section 355(b), Possession of Property Obtained by Crime contrary to section 355(b), Careless Storage of a Firearm contary to section 86(1),
Possession of a Weapon contrary to section 88(1), Carrying a Concealed Weapon contrary to section 90(1), Possession of a Restricted or Prohibited firearm without holding a licence contrary to section 91(1), Possession of a Restricted or Prohibited firearm knowingly not holding a licence contrary to section 92(1) and Unauthorized Possession of a Prohibited or Restricted Weapon in a Motor Vehicle contrary to section 94(1).
In addition, Ryan Lever is charged with Failing to Comply with a Probation Order contrary to section 733.1(1) and Possession of a Firearm contrary to a Prohibition Order contrary to section 117.01(1) of the Criminal Code of Canada.
Saber Lambert is also charged with Possession of a Schedule I Substance contrary to section 4(1) of the Criminal Code of Canada.
Lever and Lambert were transported to Central Holding in St. Catharines to await a Bail Hearing.
