According to police, at approximately 12:45 AM on Monday, October 5th, 2015, the Niagara Emergency Medical Services, St. Catharines Fire Services and the Niagara Regional Police Service were dispatched for a single motorcycle collision on Niagara Street at the QEW overpass in the City of St. Catharines, in the Region of Niagara.

 

Initial investigation revealed that a 40-year-old male resident of St. Catharines was the sole occupant operating his 2001 Kawasaki motorcycle north bound on Niagara Street, he failed to negotiate the curve in the road and lost control of the motorcycle.

The driver suffered life threatening injures and was transported to the Niagara Heath Systems St. Catharines Site by ambulance before being air lifted to the Hamilton Health Sciences General Hospital Site in critical condition.

This collision remains under investigation Detectives of the Niagara Regional Police Services Collision Reconstruction Unit and the Forensic Services Unit.
