According to police, in August of 2015, members of the Niagara Regional Police Sexual Assault Unit entered into an investigation involving allegations of historical child sex offences committed by a long time Youth Program Coordinator at the Bethany Community Church in the city of St Catharines. As a result of the investigation, 31 year old St Catharines Resident, Christopher Witte was arrested and charged with a number of offences.
Since the initial arrest was made, a number of new victims came forward and disclosed more allegations of historical sexual abuse. As a result, On September 28, 2015, Christopher Witte was arrested and charged with 13 new historical child sexual offences including; 2 counts of Sexual Assault, 2 counts of Sexual Interference, 8 counts of Invitation to Sexual Touching, and Sexual Exploitation.
Christopher Witte is scheduled to attend a bail hearing on September 29, 2015 in the city of St Catharines.
