According to police, on Saturday September 19, 2015 at approximately 3:30 p.m., members of #2 District Uniform Patrol and the Criminal Investigation Branch responded to a Robbery call at the CIBC bank located on Huggins Street in Niagara Falls.
The investigation revealed that a lone male disguised with a balaclava, a black hooded sweat shirt and sunglasses entered the bank and demanded money from the bank clerks. The suspect obtained a sum of money and fled the scene.
No one was physically injured during the course of the robbery.
As result of the ongoing investigation conducted by Detectives assigned to the #2 District Detective office with the assistance of the #2 District Street Crime Unit, PAVIS Unit and the Intelligence Unit, a suspect was identified and arrested on September 23, 2015.
The accused party, identified as 45 year old Jamie Savard has been charged with the following offences:
1) Robbery contrary to section 344(1)(b) of the Criminal Code
2) Disguise with intent contrary to section 351(2) the Criminal code
3) Possession of a Controlled Substance (Methamphetamine) contrary to section 4(1) of the Controlled Drugs and Substances Act.
The accused, Jamie Savard, was held in custody pending a Bail Hearing.
