Police say on Friday, September 11, 2015, at approx. 11:00 pm, they attended Rikochez Bar, situated on Ontario Street Grimsby in regards to a disturbance. An investigation revealed that a male patron, identified as Hamilton resident Corry Beresford (DOB 1979-Feb-15), had instigated a physical altercation with another male patron. During the unprovoked incident, Corry Beresford, punched the victim in the face and later utilized a knife to cause an injury to the victim’s hand. The victim suffered minor injuries that did not require medical attention.
On Tuesday, September 15, 2015, at approx. 1:00 pm, Police attended the rear of a business situated on Main Street by Christie Street in Grimsby, for a disturbance. An investigation revealed that Corry Beresford had attended that location and violently attacked an elderly male at the rear of the store. Beresford punched and kicked the victim in the head and body after he had fallen to the ground while trying to flee. Beresford then fled with the victim’s cellular phone, which was later recovered in the area. The male victim was transported to the West Lincoln General Hospital by Ambulance where he received treatment for his injuries. The random attack was unprovoked.
On Wednesday, September 16, 2015, 8 District Detectives attended Hamilton Ontario and arrested Corry Beresford for Robbery and Assault with a Weapon. He is being held for a bail hearing which will take place at 59 Church Street, St. Catharines on September 17, 2015.
