Police say on Saturday, September 12, 2015 at approximately 8:50 PM a lone male entered Russell Variety located at 93 Russell Avenue in the City of St. Catharines. The male approached the lone clerk while brandishing a weapon and demanding money. The clerk was not injured during the robbery.
The male left on foot with an undisclosed amount of cash and was last seen heading southbound through the Catherine Street Park. The male was described as white, 5’9″, with a medium build and light coloured eyes. His face was covered below his nose. The male was wearing a dark coloured hooded sweater, dark coloured baseball hat, grey gloves, and grey sweat pants.
This robbery is being investigated by members of the Niagara Regional Police Service 1 District Detective Office. Anyone with information is asked to contact investigators at 905-688-4111 ext. 4244.
