Police say on Saturday August 29th 2015 at 11:15 p.m. members of the Niagara Regional Police Service responded to an address in South St.Catharines for a report of a residential break in and robbery that had just occurred.
Upon arrival, officers were met by the resident of the house who advised that they were in the residence when they were confronted by a male who had gained access to the residence. At this point, the male suspect produced a weapon and made a demand for valuables from the residence. The resident subsequently screamed which caused the male to flee the residence empty handed and a search of the area by a police K9 Unit was un-successful.
The suspect is described as a white male, mid 20’s approximately 5’4″ tall and slightly over-weight with blue eyes and a red beard. The suspect was wearing a white baseball cap, a blue t-shirt with a Nike symbol on the front of it, khaki coloured cargo shorts, Nike shoes with white sweat socks and white gloves with a green tension cuff.
Investigators are examining the possibility that the residence was specifically targeted by the suspect.
Anyone with information with regards to this matter is being asked to contact Detective Sergeant Shaun Parrent at 905-688-4111 Extension 4455
