Two Niagara Police Officers were injured and two people are dead after a house fire incident in Vineland last night about 9:00 pm., according to Police.
A Lincoln Fire Department truck was dispatched to a home on Epp Street to put down the fire and police were called to the scene. When police arrived they had an “interaction” with one of the residents of the home which resulted in the injury of two officers.
One officer was hurt severely enough that he had to be airlifted to an out of town hospital. The names and cause of death of the deceased on the scene have not been released at this time.
The story is still developing as the Ontario Fire Marshal investigator and an Ontario coroner are at the scene. Also involved is the SIU (Special Investigations Unit) that investigates all incidents of serious injury involving the police.
