According to police, in the spring of 2015 members of the Welland Street Crime Unit began an investigation into a male selling heroin and crystal methamphetamines in the cities of Port Colborne and Welland, Ontario. On Wednesday June 24, 2015 the male was witnessed making a drug transaction and arrested shortly thereafter. As a result of the investigation police seized approximately $2,400.00 in suspected heroin, over $100.00 in suspected crystal methamphetamines and $1,185.00 in Canadian currency.
Derek Kilimnik, a 32 year old resident of Port Colborne, Ontario has been charged with 2 counts of Possession of a Controlled Substance for the Purpose of Trafficking, Possession of Proceeds of Property Obtained by Crime Under $5000.00, Possession of a Prohibited Weapon, Obstruct Police, and 2 counts of Failing to Comply with the Conditions of a Probation Order. Kilimnik will remain in custody pending a bail hearing on Thursday June 25, 2015.
