On Sunday, June 21st, 2015 at approximately 11:40 p.m. the Niagara Regional Police Service, Niagara Emergency Medical Services and the Port Colborne Fire Services responded to a motor vehicle collision on Berkley Avenue, Port Colborne, within the Regional Municipality of Niagara, Ontario.
Initial investigation revealed that a 20-year-old male was operating an all-terrain vehicle westbound on Berkley Avenue when he left the roadway and struck a hydro pole on the north side of Berkley Avenue. The male driver suffered life threatening injuries and was transported by ambulance to the Niagara Health Sciences Welland Site where he succumbed to his injuries.
Police are not releasing the name of the deceased driver at this time out of consideration for the family.
This collision remains under investigation by Detectives of the Niagara Regional Police Services Collision Reconstruction Unit.
