On Thursday June 4, 2015 at approximately 5:00pm, members of the Niagara Regional Police Service responded to a call by a passerby at Charles Daley Park who reported an unoccupied fishing boat that ran aground on the beach area.
An immediate search along the shore of Lake Ontario was commenced by uniform officers from Niagara Regional Police #8 District while a marine search was undertaken by members of the Canadian Coast Guard and members of the Niagara Regional Police Marine Unit.
Coast Guard crews and members of the Niagara Regional Police Marine Unit, along with air crews from RCC Trenton continued to search the waters and shore of Lake Ontario during the afternoon and into the evening attempting to locate the operator of the fishing boat who is identified as 30-year-old Jarrett SCHOLL, a resident of Grimsby, Ontario. Mr. SCHOLL launched his 15 foot aluminum Legend fishing boat from the Grimsby area, sometime after 5:30am.
Niagara Regional Police Detectives from #8 District say they are are continuing the missing persons investigation for Mr. SCHOLL, who is described as approximately 6 ft. (183 cm.) tall, 175 lbs. (84 kg.), with short black /grey hair. No clothing description is available. (no pic available at this time)
