ORIGINAL REPORT
On Sunday May 3, 2015 at 2:40am a lone adult female was attacked and sexually assaulted near the playground within the townhouse complex of 59 Rykert St., St. Catharines. The female was seated near the playground when she was attacked by a male who had just earlier spoke to her.
The male is described as black, 35 years, 5’9 with a medium build. He has short braided cornrows and was wearing a burgundy v neck t-shirt and loose black jeans with a faded wash look on the front.

According to police, as a result of a lengthy investigation the Niagara Regional Police Sexual Assault Unit with the assistance from the 1 District Street Crime Unit have arrested a 33 year old St. Catharines resident and Brian Henry JAMES has been charged with Sexual Assault with a Weapon and Overcome Resistance by Choking.
JAMES is being held in custody pending a Bail Hearing scheduled for May 23, 2015 at the Robert S K Welch Court House in St. Catharines.
