Looking for a little excitement this long weekend ? How about checking out some exciting race car action!
Mac Korince, a Fort Erie resident is a contender this weekend who currently races with the SCCA (Sports Club Car of America) in a Mini Cooper after graduating from the Skip Barber Racing School race series last year.
The 20 years old currently attends Niagara College in pursuit of his international business degree when he’s not behind the wheel and has a passion for speed as well as getting the community involved in his pursuits.
His record is pretty impressive when you consider he has only been at it a couple of years. Korince says “I started racing cars two years ago after attending a Skip Barber 3 day racing school in Connecticut. From there I raced the Skip barber series in a Mazda MX-5 and finished 5th in my first season and took home rookie of the year. In my 2nd season I finished 2nd overall. Now I’m racing a Mini Cooper, I’ve won two races so far in SCCA Majors competition and just wrapped up a national championship in the Southeast SCCA region in the B-Spec class and I am really excited about this upcoming weekend that I am participating in”.
The Pirelli World Challenge race, a professional racing series that travels all over North America takes place May 15-17 with all classes taking on the challenging high speed Canadian Tire Motorsport Park in Bowmanville, ON co-headlining with the NASCAR Canadian Tire Series as part of the Victoria Day Speedfest.
Korince is up for the challenge. Are you? For more information check out the link: Pirelli World Challenge
