Great news online shoppers!
Canada Post is launching a new feature that will let YOU CHOOSE where your parcel gets delivered. It’s called FlexDelivery and it allows you to choose your post office location of choice for your purchase to get sent to.
That means a pair of shoes once mailed to your home while you were still at work can now be routed to an outlet near your office or cottage, or… you get the idea.
FlexDelivery arrives as Canada Post looks for ways to stay competitive with retailers who are launching an array of new shopping choices, like parcel lockers inside their stores.
The new option could also help the postal service keep its costs down because most of the time they try to deliver parcels for the first time to your home you aren’t there, resulting in the further routing of the parcel to a post office.
“Consumers are demanding flexibility and convenience when it comes to delivery,” says René Desmarais, Senior Vice-President, Parcels, at Canada Post. “FlexDelivery meets that need by being the most convenient delivery experience available.”
Canada Post has the largest retail network in the country, with more post offices than McDonald’s and Tim Horton’s, combined, have restaurants in Canada. That unrivalled retail presence makes Canada Post the only company capable of offering this degree of choice and convenience to Canada’s online shoppers. Nearly 6,000 post offices in the network become personal parcel pickup points with FlexDelivery.
