According to police, on Thursday April, 23 at 5:45 am, a homeowner on Norway Ave. Welland, discovered two males breaking into his garage and called police. The males had stolen some tools/ liquor and other items from the garage. The males fled on foot after being discovered by the homeowner. Police were notified and attended to the area along with a K9 unit.
A few minutes later, Uniform Patrol Officers located a male suspect a few blocks away and he was arrested. A Police K9 Officer tracked the suspect from the garage to where he was arrested, locating a quantity of stolen property nearby that the suspect had concealed. All of the stolen items were recovered along with stolen property from a second theft, which occurred from a vehicle on Claremount Circle, Welland. The stolen property in this case was a “GPS” taken from an unlocked vehicle.
Charged is Lucas SIMPSON, 19 yrs. of Welland with Break, Enter and Theft, plus a second count of Theft Under. Simpson was held in custody, pending the outcome of a Bail Hearing to be held in St. Catharines.
*Update – Second Male Arrested*
On Friday April 24, Detectives from the Central Region arrested a second male for the Break and Enter of the residence and the theft from a vehicle.
Charged is Justin DIPASQUALE, 19 yrs. of Welland with Break, Enter and Theft, plus a second count of Theft Under $5,000.00. DIPASQUALE was held in custody pending the outcome of a Bail Hearing in St. Catharines.
