In March of 2015 members of the Welland Street Crime Unit began an investigation into a male selling drugs from a Niagara Street Apartment complex in Welland, Ontario. On April 1, 2015 a Controlled Drug and Substance Act search warrant was executed on the Niagara Street apartment. As a result of the execution of the warrant police seized over $33,900.00 worth of suspected cocaine, over $1,700.00 in prescription pills, and $1,790.00 in Canadian currency.
According to police, Rocco Vincent Munno, a 53 year old resident of Welland, Ontario is charged with four counts of Possession of a Controlled Substance for the Purpose of Trafficking, Possession of Proceeds of Property obtained by Crime under $5,000.00, Unauthorized Possession of a Prohibited Weapon, and two counts of Failing to Comply with a Recognizance. Munno is being held in custody pending a bail hearing in St. Catharines, Ontario on Thursday April 2, 2015.
Lynn Lachance, a 46 year old resident of Welland, Ontario is charged with 2counts of Possession of a Controlled Substance for the Purpose of Trafficking, and Possession of Proceeds of Property obtained by Crime Under $5,000.00. Lachance is being released on an Officer in Charge Promise to Appear.
