In the early part of March of 2015 members of the Welland Street Crime Unit began to receive information on a male who, while on charge for selling controlled substances, was once again selling controlled substances from his residence in the east side of Welland, Ontario.
On Thursday March 19, 2015 police arrested two people identified as a result of this investigation.
Dameon Phillips, a 25 year old resident of the Barbadoes is charged with Possession of a Controlled Substance for the Purpose of Trafficking, Possession of Proceeds of Property Obtained by Crime Under $5,000.00, Assault with Intent to Resist Arrest, Obstruct Police, and Possession of a Controlled Substance.
Stephen Martin, a 57 year old resident of Welland, Ontario is charged with Possession for the Purpose of Trafficking, Possession of Proceeds of Property Obtained by Crime Under $5,000.00, and Breach of a Recognizance.
Both Phillips and Martin were held in custody pending a bail hearing on Friday March 20, 2015 in St.Catharines, Ontario. As a result of this investigation police seized approximately $400.00 in suspected cocaine and marihuana, and $400.00 in Canadian currency.
