On Monday February 23rd, 2015 at approximately 3:20 p.m. the Niagara Regional Police Service responded to 13 Chetwood St, St Catharines along with Niagara Paramedics and St Catharines Fire Officials.
The body of a female was located inside the Chetwood Street home. The cause of death was investigated by the Coroner’s office and police investigators and following an autopsy on February 24th, 2015 this incident was determined to be a homicide.
The victim was identified as 29 year old Jessica Scanlon the resident of the home. The Niagara Regional Police Homicide Unit assumed responsibility for this investigation and continued their inquiries.
According to police, on Monday, March 16th 2015, Niagara Regional Police Service, Homicide Unit Detectives, arrested Jeremy Edward Gough of St Catharines. Gough has been charged with First Degree Murder. He will appear in Bail Court on Tuesday March 17th, 2015 at the St Catharines Court House.
Investigators are revealing that the victim and accused were known to each other but no further information will be released.
