Special weather statement in effect for:
- Niagara Falls – Welland – Southern Niagara Region
- St. Catharines – Grimsby – Northern Niagara Region
Risk of freezing rain Saturday night.
Several disturbances along a frontal zone will move into Southern Ontario this weekend. An area of snow will accompany the first disturbance that will arrive early Saturday morning. A second more significant area of precipitation is projected to move into the region late Saturday afternoon. Current indications suggest that this precipitation is likely to fall as ice pellets, freezing rain or freezing drizzle and could persist through much of Saturday night.
There is still considerable uncertainty regarding this weather scenario. Environment Canada meteorologists will continue to watch this developing situation closely.
