On Tuesday February 3rd 2015, members of the Niagara Regional Police Service were called to an address on Albert St in the City of Welland for a report of a male who had kicked an apartment door causing damage to it.
Police say investigation revealed that the male suspect who kicked the door also threatened a tenant, then fled the scene prior to police arrival. The male suspect was located a short time later at a residence on Lincoln St and was subsequently arrested.
A search of the suspect also revealed him to be in possession of several pre-packed baggies of suspected cocaine.
Charged with Mischief under $5000, Uttering Threats, Possession of a Schedule I Substance for the Purpose of Trafficking, and Breach of Probation (x2) is 38 year old Darren Verge of Welland. He will be held in custody pending a Bail Hearing on Wednesday February 4th 2015 in the City of St. Catharines.
