This morning, shortly after 6 am a Fort Erie man was killed after a head-on collision on the QEW south of Lyons Creek Road in Niagara Falls.
Police say 57-year-old Edwin Kent, who was pronounced dead at the scene was driving a grey GMC Silverado pickup truck northbound when he went into the ditch and crossed into the southbound lanes, where he was struck by a dump truck about a kilometre south of the Lyons Creek overpass, and north of the Beck Rd. bridge.
The dump truck driver, who has not been named, was taken to Greater Niagara General Hospital in Niagara Falls for treatment of minor injuries.
