According to police on Sunday, January 25 at approximately 2:00 am, a 26 yr. old male victim was struck by another male patron, knocking him to the ground. The victim then went outside where he was approached by the same male suspect who struck him again in the incident that occurred at the Park Bar at Park St/ King St. in Welland (map of location below).
The victim was then again knocked to the ground, where he received injuries to his face and head and transported by paramedics to Welland County General Hospital by ambulance where it was determined that he had severe head trauma. The victim was then transferred to the Hamilton General Hospital for further treatment.
The initial investigation was by done by uniform patrol officers from #3 District, assisted by detectives from the Central Region Detective Office and the Homicide Unit. At this time, the injuries while serious to the victim, do not appear life threatening.
With assistance from the Eastern Region Detective Office, police arrested a male in Niagara Falls for the assault
Charged is Bradley FOLEY, 39 yrs. of Niagara Falls with Aggravated Assault. FOLEY will be held in custody, pending the outcome of a Bail Hearing tomorrow at St. Catharines Provincial Court.
