In December of 2014 members of the Welland Street Crime Unit began an investigation into the sale of Crystal Meth in the City of Welland, Ontario.
On Thursday January 22, 2015 police say they arrested a male who was suspected of selling drugs in the west end of Thorold Road in Welland, Ontario and they subsequently executed a Controlled Drug and Substance Act search warrant at a Thorold Road Apartment.
As a result of the arrest and the subsequent search warrant police seized suspected crystal meth and mdma valued at approximately $2,3000.00. Police also seized over $1,100.00 in Canadian Currency and over $8,000.00 worth of suspected stolen property including computers, smart phones, cameras, and jewellery.
John Disher, a 30 year old resident of Welland, Ontario is charged with 3 Counts of Possession of a Controlled Substance for the Purpose of Trafficking, 2 counts of Possession of Prohibited Devices, Possession of Proceeds of Property Obtained by Crime Under $5,000.00, 3 counts of Possession of a Prohibited Weapon, Possession of Stolen Property over $5,000.00, and 2 counts of Fail to Comply with a Probation Order.
Marco Grenier, a 36 year old resident of Welland, Ontario is charged with 2 counts of Possession of a Controlled Substance for the Purpose of Trafficking, Possession of Stolen Property over $5,000.00, Possession of a Prohibited Device, and Breach of a Recognizance.
Carrie Fidler, a 27 year old resident of Welland is charged with 2 counts of Possesion of a Controlled Substance for the Purpose of Trafficking, Possession of Stolen Property over $5,000.00, Possession of a Prohibited Device, Failing to Comply with a Probation Order, and Breach of a Recognizance.
All three arrested parties are being held in custody pending a bail hearing on Friday January 23, 2015.
