On January 14, 2014 at approximately 7:00 AM the Niagara Regional Police Service and Paramedics from Niagara Emergency Medical Services were called to the intersection of Prince Charles Drive and Fitch Street in Welland where a 68 year old male pedestrian had been struck by a car.
He was treated at the scene and transported to hospital with minor injuries, there was no damage to the car and the intersection was closed for a short period before being re-opened .
The pedestrian was charged for disobeying a don’t walk signal. The Driver was charged for making a turn not in safety. The charges are both under the Highway Traffic Act of Ontario.
The investigation was conducted by uniform members of 3 District in Welland.
