Police say on December 3, 2014 at approximately 7:35 PM the Niagara Regional Police Service, Niagara Emergency Medical Services and Pelham Fire Services responded to a report of a single vehicle collision. The car had been traveling southbound on Poth Rd, between Foss Rd and Sumbler Rd in the town of Pelham.
When emergency services arrived on scene an abandoned grey Saturn Vue was found with extensive damage having struck a tree and rolled over. The police investigation determined the car had been stolen from Grimsby in the area of Chardonnay Place on December 01, 2014 between 10:00pm and 6:45 am ( Dec 02 ).
An extensive search of the area was conducted by members of the Niagara Regional Police Service including 3 District uniform officers, the Special Enforcement Unit, and the K9 Unit. Pelham firefighters assisted with the use of infrared cameras. The driver or any occupants could not be located.
Due the extensive damage to the vehicle, police believe the driver and occupants may have been injured.
