According to police, approximately 8:30 p.m. police responded to a report that a female had been shot at a motel in the City of Niagara Falls. Police located the adult female victim at the Greater Niagara General Hospital. She was suffering from a small caliber gun shot wound to her lower extremity. The victims injuries were not life threatening and she was treated and released. The victim is not cooperating fully with police and at this time there is no suspect description. Based on the initial investigation police do not believe this is a random incident.

The incident is being investigated by members of the Casino Patrol Units Criminal Investigation Branch.
