According to police, on Wednesday, November 19th, 2014 at approximately 3:30 p.m. the Niagara Falls Fire Department, Niagara Emergency Medical Services and the Niagara Regional Police Service responded to reports of a two vehicle collision on St. Paul Avenue at Steele Road in the City of Niagara Falls, with in the Regional Municipality of Niagara, Ontario.
Initial investigation revealed that a 68-year-old Niagara-on-the-Lake resident was operating his 2012 Chrysler 200 northbound on St. Paul Avenue. At the same time a 38-year-old male resident of Niagara Falls was stopped facing southbound on the northbound shoulder in his 2010 Ford F150. The right side of the Chrysler came into collision with the right side of the Ford causing the Chrysler to veer of the east edge of roadway, before coming to rest under the Highway 405 overpass.
The 38-year-old Niagara Falls man was uninjured in the collision and tended to the driver of the Chrysler till Emergency Services personnel arrived. The 68-year-old Niagara-on-the-Lake resident was transported to the Niagara Health System Greater Niagara General Site where he was pronounced dead.
