In September of 2014 the Niagara Regional Police Service began an investigation into thefts from residential construction sites in Fonthill, Ontario. According to police the unidentified suspect was captured on video and observed to be in possession of stolen material from job sites.
In the early hours of October 17th, 2014 members of the Central Region uniform branch responded to a theft in progress on Marlene Stewart Drive in Fonthill, Ontario where they say a male was caught stealing items from a construction site and as a result of this arrest and assistance from a video surveillance system, the male arrested was discovered to be the responsible person for the September thefts.
On October 22nd, 2014 the accused was located and arrested. Charged with two counts of theft under $5000 is 25 year old, Michael Roman of Fonthill, Ontario. He will be released on a promise to appear with a future court date.
This investigation was assisted by vigilant members of the public and through the assistance of a video surveillance system.
