Update
Two 16 year old Welland males have been arrested and charged in connection with the Robbery. In accordance with the Youth Criminal Justice Act, the names will not be released.
Initial Release
On Saturday September 13, 2014 at 9:14 p.m., police say two masked males entered Qins Variety located at 94 Empire Street in the City of Welland and one of the two males demanded money from the lone clerk while the second male stood at the door. Despite the first male’s demand, both males fled before receiving any money. The clerk was uninjured as a result of this incident.
The first male is described as male, white, 5’9, approximately 20 years of age, wearing a black toque, black pants and a red hooded sweatshirt with a white design on the front.
The second male is described as male, white, 5’11, approximately 20 years of age, wearing black shorts with a white stripe on the side and a dark coloured hooded jacket.
