Thorold native Elise Gasbarrino underwent treatment for ovarian cancer during her final year of university and felt as a young woman the social support network with other women going through cancer was not available so she started the Pink Pearl Foundation.
Pink Pearl is a not-for-profit organization that brings together young women who have been affected by cancer through a network of peer-support and innovative programs.
Check out this great story of inspiration and courage from a young local woman that had all the odds tossed her way but came out not only a survivor, but a person that paved the way to make a better world for those after her.
