A pedestrian walking along the tracks was struck this morning by a passing train. Shortly after 10am a 24 year old male was walking along the train tracks just east of Pelham Rd in St. Catharines when he was struck by a passing train.
The male suffered fatal injuries as a result of the collision. St. Catharines Fire Department, EMS, CN Police and members of the Niagara Regional Police Service attended began an investigation into this incident. Foul play is not suspected.
The name of the deceased will not be released and there will be no further information released. Police are asking anyone who may have witnessed this incident to contact Detective Baxter at 905-688-4111 ext. 4307.
