If you haven’t already done so (or even if you already have), make sure to check out the 62nd Annual Niagara Wine Festival which continues throughout this weekend in the area…Canada’s oldest and largest wine festival!
With sunny skies and temperatures around 25 degrees Celsius, it will definitely be the perfect backdrop to get outside and enjoy some wine and gorgeous autumn weather.
Montebello Park will be the place where you can enjoy food and wine seminars, wine tastings, an All Access Lounge and great entertainment. Tonight’s entertainment kicks off with Jonesy from 6:30-7:30 pm whose musical influences range from Imagine Dragons to Pharrell and everything in between. After that it’s The Caverners – A Tribute to The Beatles from 8-10:30 pm.
Saturday will include a bevy of activities including The Meridian Grande Parade (starts Lake and Welland Ave.), which kicks off at 11:00 am featuring marching bands, drum corps, community groups, majorettes, floats and amazing performances. It attracts more than 100,000 spectators to the streets of downtown St. Catharines each year so don’t miss it.
Commemoration of the bicentennial of the War of 1812 is this year’s Grande Parade inspired theme “Celebrating 200 Years of Peace”. Also, don’t forget to donate to the Community Care Annual Harvest Drive. Last year over 8,000lbs of food were contributed to fill the shelves at our local food bank.
Saturday and Sunday other events continue in the park and beyond. For complete information on this year’s festival, go to: www.niagarawinefestival.com.
Niagarabuzz.ca will also be there to cover the highlights. Cheers!
